I had an amazing opportunity to speak to Mr. Cosmos Zavala, a teacher of the word. You will be amazed by the wisdom God has imparted on this man. I won’t say more read it for yourself.
Zondi: Greetings man of God, it is an honor to get an opportunity to speak to
Cosmos Zavala: Thank you man of God. It is a privilege to speak to you as well.
Brian Zondi: First things first, congratulations on your first book titled ‘Grace of God that Enables’. What inspired you to write this book?
Cosmos Zavala: Thank you so much. I saw a gap in the body of Christ. The message of Grace is a missing link and I felt that it needs to be reinstated. Many believers have been taught to believe in their own righteousness and less has been said about the Grace of God. The book points people to depend on the Grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ: so it was befitting to me to entitle it ” The Grace of God that Enables. “
Brian Zondi: Very interesting man of God. You have touched a very sensitive issue in the body of Christ, that is Grace. What is Grace?
Cosmos Zavala: Indeed, it is a very sensitive issue. Well, Grace is a very sensitive word to many Christians because it exposes a lot of things that are not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Let us define it in terms of the Word. Grace is simply God’s unmerited favour, it is what God does for us without any credentials. It is a gift of God; it is all that God has done for us through Jesus Christ. It has nothing to do with anything good that we’ve done but has to do with all that our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us.
Brian Zondi: I hear you man of God, what is that God has done for us?
Cosmos Zavala: Well, there’s so much that God has done for us. I think the most important thing is the atonement of our sins. Through His death all of our sins were taken away: past, present and future sins (Hebrews 9:27). Not just the atonement of our sins: but at the cross there was a divine exchange, He took our evil and we took His righteousness, today we stand holy and righteous before Him forever because of the work of the Cross. I could say a lot more; our healing was purchased through the grueling beatings He endured. By His stripes we are healed from all sickness. There’s a lot more, I’m excited by this Grace.
Brian Zondi: What one need to do to receive this wonderful gift of righteousness from our Lord?
Cosmos Zavala: It is simple, just have faith in Jesus. It has nothing to do with what we have done. We just need to have faith in Jesus and what He did for us.
Brian Zondi: Just by believing in Jesus Christ, you are declared righteous without your good works. That sounds like good news to me but someone may say, since I am already declared righteous, I might as well continue to sin.
Cosmos Zavala: That person is ignorant man of God. Paul says, ” Shall we sin so that Grace may increase? Absolutely not…” (Romans 6:1) Grace does not give us a license to live anyhow. Grace gives us the power to overcome sin, since sin was conquered at the Cross. We are free from sin because of Grace.
Brian Zondi: In your book ‘Grace that Enables’, you explain it in details on how grace help us to overcome sin that the law[Ten Commandments] failed to do.
Cosmos Zavala: Yes I do so man of God, you see the Church has taught that Grace is a licence to sin. That is not the truth, it not what the Bible says. The Bible says, ” For sin shall not have dominion over you, because you are no longer under the law, but under Grace. ” (Romans 6:14) How clear is that? I feel that we complicate the simple message of Grace by trying to sound deep. The Bible is very clear about the message of Grace; it is a simple message of the Father’s love. The Law cannot make us holy, it failed to do so, only Jesus can.
Brian Zondi: Wow that is great! There are many things that are in your book that have help me to grow as a believer. I do not want to go to church politics but I have to ask you this last question. Why is the law still being preached by our leaders in the church as if God still justify believers by the law or we are made right by keeping the law?Cosmos Zavala: Man of God it is simple, preachers are trying to make the Church to live a holy life by preaching the law, they themselves can’t keep the law. They don’t understand that by preaching the Law, they are making people to sin more. Paul said, ” The sting of death is sin and the power of sin is the law. ” So teaching the law gives sin power and dominion over people’s lives. Justification by faith through Grace alone delivers from the shackles of sin. I wish preachers can get this, the law cannot make one to live a holy life.
Brian Zondi: I hear you man of God, this is amazing. Now I understand where the song ‘Amazing Grace’ come from. So is it safe to say that grace is “the message of the cross”, which is the only Gospel that should be preached?
Cosmos Zavala: It is definitely safe to preach Grace. In fact, it is responsible to preach the Gospel of Grace. Our human intelligence believes that we should preach self-righteousness, but this is against what the Bible speaks about. The most responsible thing a preacher must teach is the message of Grace.
Brian Zondi: So profound man God, I wish we had more time. I thank you for your time to share what God has revealed onto you with our readers. I also thank God for giving you wisdom to study and understand His word with revelation knowledge. May God our Father continue to be with you. On your final word man of God, what does it take for someone to understand this grace. How people can contact you and where can they get your book? Cosmos Zavala: It has been a pleasure to have this amazing conversation. It is easy to understand this Grace, just receive it as it is, don’t mix it, but take it as raw as it is. People can contact me on my email: email@example.com to order my book.
Brian Zondi: Thank you.
